Created in 1973, the Riviera watch returns this year to revive the spirit of a distinguished watchmaking era. One of the Brands icons, it still features the distinctive bezel and streamlined steel watchcase that have brought it such renown. Rather than a revival, the fifth generation of this legendary watch strikes the chord of an authentic renewal.

All Riviera or Clifton timepieces* equipped with a Baumatic manufacture movement are eligible for an additional 6-year warranty upon registration on their website.
*This program is retroactive to all timepieces bought from January 1st, 2023.

Testing
The assembled calibers and cases are submitted to the most stringent individual tests to ensure every timepiece functions according to Baume & Mercier’s specifications. The mechanical watches are tested on a machine for the movements accuracy and power reserve. Their function controls are also tested: setting the time, jumping date, chronograph and any other complication.
The watches then undergo thermal shock testing, which highlights any hidden flaws. Every watch made at the manufacture in Les Brenets also undergoes a number of visual and aesthetic checks. Lastly, to ensure consistent and flawless quality, each finished piece undergoes a final meticulous check before being sent to one of our approved retailers.
