The GC Sport in lightweight Titanium Limited to 200 pieces
The GC Sport combines lightweight, robust architecture with traditional fine watchmaking techniques. The watch has been designed for every moment in life and tested and approved by some of the worlds most successful professional athletes.
All Gerald Charles watches are powered by highly-sophisticated manufacture movements, customized exclusively for Gerald Charles.
The GC Sport houses the highly sophisticated calibre Ref. GCA 3002. It is an automatic calibre 3.7 mm thick with the date and time functions, a double barrel and a power reserve of 50 hours.
The movement was adapted to accommodate the 180-degree revolution required to set the crown on the left side of the case. The most significant change was to the date wheel, which required a bespoke solution to ensure it would align to the new layout.
An homage to tennis
Gerald Charles has a close relationship with the world of professional tennis and has shock-tested the versatile Maestro GC Sport on the wrists of some of ATP tournament players. The watch has a robust case construction and a highly shock-resistant ultra-thin movement. Despite the extraordinary stresses it experienced during a professional tennis match, it came through testing unaffected. But most importantly its is the ergonomics of Gerald Charles watches and their comfort on wrist which make it possible for professional tennis players to wear GC Sport during the game.
The Maestro collection includes three references of the GC Sport, an homage to the three tennis surfaces: hard, clay and grass.
Shock-resistance
For the GC Sport, the Gerald Charles GCA 3002 automatic manufacture movement has also been specially adapted. It has been made stronger and up to 40 per cent more resistant to shocks and stresses caused by high-impact movements. The rotor has been evolved, too. It is now more resistant, so that it doesnt wind the movement too quickly during intense physical exercise, or risk overwinding it.
